Caught the ancestry bug later in life so am in a steep learning curve. Retied and have the time to now add the muscle to the bones. Am particularly interested in 5 small rural cemeteries where there are distant relatives. Worked on 3 of them in Missouri in 2021 and plan on future trips to visit one in Kentucky and Virginia. Learned how to clean and restore memorials. The lack of attention to some of these cemeteries is disturbing.
Recently started photographing 2 neglected cemeteries in Gough and Vidette, Georiga here in my home state. Discovered the satisfaction of documenting non-relatives too.
Family names of primary interest are Pitts, Werges, Beine, Luedersen, Simms, Ellis, Schatz, and Oehler.
