Having deep roots on my maternal side within the Commonwealth of Virginia, I have always felt a profound connection to the landscape and the stories it holds. My journey into Virginia history took on a deeply personal and meaningful dimension upon acquiring land in Orange County—a property known historically as Spring Hill. Through this acquisition, I became the custodian not just of acreage, but of the legacy of John Gibson (1764–1833) and his wife, Ann Eustace Gibson. While I do not share the Gibson family name, I have spent significant time researching their family history and believe their legacy deserves to be highlighted.
