This site has helped me so much in finding otherwise unknown ancestors and relatives. I try to help others when I can, as well as continuing my own research in linking family members to each other.

I do not amend memorials without documentation. Having been led astray by other Find A Grave memorials which relied on speculation, I insist on proof before editing information on the memorials I manage. I prefer photos or screenshots of primary documents if the documents are not available for free viewing by all who come here researching their loved ones.

I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. If you send me a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you are related to the person. I do not transfer based on "being related".

■ Find A Grave's primary purpose is to document locations of graves. FIND A GRAVE.

■ Find A Grave's purpose is NOT to be merely a genealogical resource. It is not another "family tree online". It is a record of graves and burial locations, which is obviously useful in genealogy but that it cannot be relied on as a genealogical source without other sources. Some of these memorials are in error, and if they have no supporting documentation attached, must be regarded as speculation. Without other sources, I use only the information on the stone. Sometimes, even THAT is wrong. Humans make errors, including those who engrave tombstones.
