My maiden name literally means "from the churchyard," so it's no wonder I have long been fascinated by cemeteries and the history they hold. That reverence grew when I began my career as an obituaries reporter while still in college, and grew stronger as I spent nearly a decade working closely with those who have lost loved ones in service to our nation.

While I have used Find A Grave for years, I only became a contributor in 2017, mostly when I would have additional information to contribute and didn't want it lost to the genealogists of tomorrow. My intention was to manage only pages for family members; it has grown to include others, many of whom I never knew in life.

I definitely am willing to make transfers for those with which I have no personal connection other than as the temporary custodian of their memorial page. (Even if not within four generations, if the person is someone special to you or on your family tree, please ask!) You never know when someone will fall down the rabbit hole as so many Find A Grave contributors have done and find a passion for honoring those who have gone before.

Gravesites are the final place our loved ones' stories are told. I love FindAGrave's ability to help people connect with the past, and I value the community contributions of this team of volunteers.

Cemeteries for which I have "mowed the rows" to photograph sections. In most cases I have not completed a cemetery, but have worked in sections. Sometimes I have worked on cemeteries while on travel & have no expectation of returning to continue work at that site.
