I live in Denton County, Texas, just a few short miles from where my 2nd great grandfather settled when he came to Texas in the late 1850's. It is fun knowing that fact. The Lake Dallas was built on the Garza-Little Elm creek and my relatives who still lived on the old home place were bought out and told a dam and a lake would replace their farm lands. Some moved on into Denton and some to Lewisville, some on the other side of the lake. Later, the Lake was rebuilt and enlarged with a new larger dam and the folks had to move on again. Then coincidentally my family moved very near to where some of my relatives lived before the last rebuild; on the south side of the lake.
