Retired native of Massachusetts now living on the west side of Narragansett Bay in RI. Spent several years researching my family's genealogy in the 80's and 90's and lost interest just before computers were introduced to the field which expanded the capabilities exponentially.
Upon learning that the home we bought in 2014 sits on property that was a plantation (yes, to include slaves)in colonial times and that a historical cemetery was just feet away which was the resting place for two locally prominent families and that one of the graves held the remains of a hero of the Revolutionary War. A relapse into my addiction to history resulted.
