I am the daughter of Leslie Eugene Lyman III (1948-2016) and Nancy Elaine Martin (1955) My maternal haplogroup is V17 My paternal haplogroup is CTS5990 (***CHRISMER***) (confirmed by male paternal first cousin) I've always been fascinated with genealogy and family stories. No one in my immediate family shares my enthusiasm. My parents divorced when I was only nine and I was eleven before I ever "got a cousin". It seemed like everyone else had cousins, and lots of them! My maiden name is Lyman. It's my main surname that I have always related to. Although my dad and his dad were also raised as Lymans, we have found out through DNA testing that my paternal grandpa (Leslie Eugene Lyman Jr.) was not the biological child of the parents who raised him. We do not think my grandpa ever knew he was adopted! Thanks to DNA testing, creating genetic networks, targeted DNA testing, and over two years of hard work collaborating with cousins, we now know who my grandfather's birth parents are and why we have so many close "cousins" from Yuma, Colorado. Our family bloodline name is not Lyman. It's Chrismer. Honestly, this blows my mind. I am the administrator for several other test kits which include my family, my husband's family & some friends. I have attended several DNA conferences focusing on genetic genealogy and learned a lot of interesting ways to connect the dots to network & research.
