Hi - I'm a young 60something Grandmother of 5, soon to be 6. Recently, with the results of my DNA test I had hoped to realize the Native American tribe my Grandmother had so "ernestly" told me back in the day. She believed she was, so who was I to argue. She passed in 1998, before my DNA results were known. She would have learned, or been able then to tell the story of her origins. I believe she kept my Grandfather's secret. Which to my amazement turned out to be 2-prison sentences in Pennsylvania in the 1925-1933-ish timeframe. His name was Ernest! Nicknamed"Shorty" because, well he only 5'6" in stature. Same height as myself. My Gma was much taller, by about 3 or 4 inches if I memory serves. But all 6 of the children born to this couple were no taller than 5'10". My father, John Ernest, the eldest. Virginia, second and the only daughter. Then William (Uncle Bill), David-never Dave that I can recall, Paul, and James, otherwise known as Jimmy.
