I began my education in the field of Genealogy in 1967, and, as there were no computers then, I learned the old way, traveling to where the records were. It was a long road to where I am today. One of the things that kept me going was the generous amount of free help I got from more advanced researchers. I am forever grateful for that help and decided that in order to pay it back, I would pay it forward. When I retired in 2002, I stopped charging people for family reseach and helping them learn. these days I only ask for contributions to my gas budget if I travel more than 60 miles from home, and for copies of certified documents if requested. I am registered with several volunteer research request sites. I also do historical research, specializing in cemetery research, transcribing and photographing and publishing on Interment.net. I live in Lake Delton, WI., except for retreating to Tucson, AZ. November thru March.
I am a Member of the Sauk County Historical Society, Wisconsin State Historical Society, and Cincinnati Ohio Historical Society. As Researcher, I have direct access to the Vital Statistics records in most of the counties I cover as well as having cemetery burial records and grave plot maps for most of the Cemeteries in Sauk and Columbia Counties. When I have time, I will ocassionally add a Biography to a gravesite I post, but usually leave that up to relatives of the deceased to add as they wish. I don't have the time to research every grave I document because before I publish anything I want to see an official record of some sort to verify the information.
