Genealogy has always fascinated me, history in general, of the people, places, and things, I've watched disappear over my short 63 years in California. I was born with an acute memory, and as I've watched family and friends succumb to Alzheimer's disease over the years, I saw the importance of documentation and connection, and was thrilled to discover and join Find a Grave, and share and connect not only my own families lives/stories, but also those of loved and devoted friends as well.I love the BIO from FaG Member Mockingbird Tales, who eloquently said "this is like a message in a bottle, enabling us to make our connections with our ancestors, and others like ourselves, who are searchers, sentimental rememberer's, and guardians of past lives and times." How absolutely true! Thanks MT. There have been many FaG members so far, that have become my mentors, guiding, encouraging, and blessing me in my searches. I fondly remember the days of going to near and far away libraries, learning how to bio my family from index cards, journals, Govt. records, and mircofische reels. What great training that was! And now, the internet, sites like Ancestry, DNA testing Co.'s, all nothing short of a miracle.I'm confident God put all this in our path's for a reason; every life counts, all His creation remembered.
