I think my initial interest began about 1990. I have lived in Oregon for nearly 50 years, but my family roots remain in Pennsylvania. The distance from family was a large factor in what lead me on this research path. I began using Family Tree Maker in June, 1999. I have more than 35,000 people in my file with 6112 surnames now. I spent a number of years using some shareware stuff that was DOS based, but ended up starting over. Key branches of the family include the following surnames: HINTZ, ALLUMBAUGH, ALUMBAUGH, HOOVER, RAGAN, STICKEL, WITMER also: HUBER, SENSEMAN, BURGOON.
In 2024, I was admitted to DAR using patriot John Senseman.
Many thanks for additions to 1) the Huber line go to Barb Sclesky-Gannon, John Huber, Ida Krug and my immediate Hoover aunts, uncles and cousins; 2) the Stickel line goes to Marilyn and David E. Miller as well as the tree drawn by Charles Monroe Senseman in 1908; and 3) the Witmer line goes to Orpha Kraybill and Helen Miller.
I am trying to trace the entry of my great-grandfather, James Ragan, into Fall River, MA circa 1853/1854.He was believed to be from County Cork, Ireland. I have not been able to find him on the 1855 or 1860 census for Fall River. If you have any suggestions, please contact me.
The main geographic areas of research that I have been conducting are in:
o Pennsylvania:Cambria Co., Cumberland Co., Dauphin Co., and Allegheny Co.
o Germany & Ireland --no specific areas yet

o Phillip Huber is the tree from my maternal grandfather's branch.It dates back to the early 1700's. A large portion of the family still resides in the Cambria Co., Pa area.
o Heinrich Senseman is from my father's maternal grandmother family tree. Members are traced back to when they arrived in the US -circa 1742. Many of the members are on WFT Pedigree #5080, volume 2.
o John Stickle is from my father's paternal tree. I have more work to do here. Family is centered around Cumberland Co., Pa.
o Elias L Witmer is my father's maternal tree. Family is centered around Middletown, Pa.
