Mary Bayer and husband, Leon Bresloff, enjoy tracing our families. We've both received help from FindAGrave volunteers so we enjoy volunteering, too. We search & photograph together and always try to include wide angle photos so others can know about & locate the place where their ancestors lie. Often the photo can reveal additional graves of family members they never knew were there. We try to include everyone in the plot.

Please feel free to use any photo or info that we might have posted on FindAGrave. And anytime we are listed as the "source" (manager) of a family member's Memorial and you would like to become the manager of that Memorial, please let us know and we can work with you to arrange the transfer.

It's worth noting that many, if not most, cemeteries in many parts of Maine are snowed in and often completely closed during winter months due to heavy snow cover. We usually can't get in to photograph headstones until spring. Once the snow melts and the roads and paths are open and not terribly muddy, we begin again. That usually happens in May.

2023 Late July

A strange summer here in Maine, lots of rain and very hot (for us) when the rain stops, too hot to spend much time in cemeteries! The ticks are plentiful this year so covering up to prevent bites is crippling when it's hot! So our cemetery visits will be rather spotty until the fall.

2024 Early October

Another very hot summer, so hot much of the time that the camera stops working after a few minutes. Most of our photography this summer was done during trips to cooler places.

Early Nov 2024

Another hot summer so most of our time it was too hot to photograph around home. We did extensive travel, mostly by car, this summer and photographed wherever we went. Also fitted in a bout with Covid following our trip to the Azores in June. This fall we were back in Maine but most of our work still needs to be posted to FindAGrave. A great winter project!

Cemeteries are open now so we are back at it. Black Flies are back again, full force, but we'll do our best to respond to requests. We'll be traveling again this summer so we'll have a chance to visit new (to us) sites.
