I've never met my father and knew very little about him. Thanks to a few key memories from my mother and close cousin DNA matches on Ancestry.com I found him in late 2019. I sent him a DNA kit which confirmed!
Finding the other half of my family (do I have brothers and sisters?) is what got me started in genealogy and findagrave has been a massive help along with ancestry.com. It is for this reason that I edit missing information as I find it and occasionally transcribe tombstones (except someone always beats me to it!), hoping to help someone else as well.
