**Please if you request an edit/change on a memorial I manage, please tell/proof to me why you are requesting a change/update. I will not make a change until after I search for and find proof, so if you can help with that process please do. I have added a memorial because I'm standing in that cemetery and take the info off of a headstone w a pict /HS or any of the following such as cemetery records, news paper obit, death certificate, or as of late *** acquired management of memorials made by someone else. If you tell me her name is Valley when her headstone says Mary I will not change it with out proof.

I realize and hope YOU do that when most of us makes a request for an edit that we don't click on and check out the manager of that memorial first before making a request, sadly if we did that would save alot of time in our research. Most of my edits that have gotten declined comes from a certain few on FAG that seem to decline rather than even look at the information or much less the memorial it self. It's Sad

Seems most are all about how many memorials they have under their belt, rather than correcting or adding info.

Hopeful to help connect others with family in research and to remember those we love, Never to forget them...keeping their memory alive!

Thankful to those that have offered out of the kindness of their heart to transfer a memorial to me, (when I never ask) just because it's a relative of mine. I would be glad to do the same of a memorial that I have added if that person is a close relative.

If I have requested a headstone picture, its not because I want to lay claim of a memorial it may be to just proof burial place in a certain cemetery. I'm not out to add to this site just for high numbers.

If I add a new memorial for someone I will try to add a death certificate with *SS# edited out, obituary or headstone pic. that shows the cemetery and dates, as proof of burial in said cemetery, rather than just guessing or hear say.

I believe if a picture of a headstone was added yrs ago that it should be accepted for the most part, to be documentation that said grave exists. I've seen to many headstones covered with flowers- 15 to 20 (in older cemeteries especially) I'm not removing flowers to get a better picture..... there are so many non- existent headstone pictures that need to be taken rather than getting the right shot ....SORRY Just My Opinion.

Sadley In the time I've been on Find A Grave I have run across some ill mannered people, all you have to do is ask nicely...not be threatening .... I have added some information sometimes from a public obituary (many generations back & on a distant relative of mine) only to be threatened to be reported if I didn't remove it. All you had to do was ask not Threaten.

At the same time **An obituary in todays world is public knowledge per internet/funeral home sites on the Web, if family members don't want to make it public they don't do an obituary to start with. (their choose )....I have extended family members that have done just that - No Obituary at their request.

In yesterdays world it was a newspaper printing.

I thought in the long run we are on this site for the same reason. I guess, way-not be like all the rest of the world today!

Maybe some have been on this site to long or just had a bad day who knows??
