I have, for more than 50 years, been researching my family history. BOOSER in Pennsylvania; LOCKWOOD in Missouri/Kansas & Ohio; FISHER in Missouri; GUNN in Missouri, Kentucky & North Carolina; BRANDENBURG in Ohio; ANDERSON in Ohio.
I started pre-computer and corresponding with then living relatives, near & far. I have 1867--69 diaries of a GG GF from Dilles Bottom, Belmont County, Ohio (LOCKWOOD) as well as his family Bible.
