I joined Find a Grave to help document final resting places, honor those who have passed, connect families to their loved ones and provide future generations with a road map for their family history.

I began with finding ancestors who immigrated from Europe in the mid-1800s and became pioneers and community leaders in the Upper Midwest.

RE: Military Memorials
I don't like the idea of people being left behind and forgotten so, in addition to connecting the burial sites of my own family, I've 'adopted' some older memorials in military cemeteries that have incomplete information. There have been inspiring and heartbreaking stories along the way. Thorough research for valid documentation of military service and family members has had some great results and I've been able to reconnect a small (but hopefully significant) number of military veterans to their parents, spouses, siblings and children.
