Just a history buff, retired and living in South Carolina. I spend a lot of time researching the 1st South Carolina Volunteers of African Descent and other unique regiments and their members because I find their stories fascinating and often untold. I tromp through old cemeteries and documents to try and bring some light into these sometimes forgotten people.
