I'm a fifth generation "Conch" on mom's side, and a descendant of Peter T. Knight and Maria Elisabetha Merklin, and Richard Henry Albury and Georgianna Harris. Dad came here in the Navy from Massachusetts around 1950. I still live in Key West.
Lately, I've been reading old editions of Key West newspapers, looking for family information. It occurred to me that I should be uploading articles and obituaries about unrelated persons to findagrave, especially since I've found so much valuable information here about my family. It's especially gratifying to find someone who grew up, got married, or served in the military here in Key West, but died elsewhere, and his or her family may not be aware of the connection to Key West.
Please feel free to email me if you think I may be able to provide information that you need. No promises, though - I still work full-time, and do this research in my spare time. Since I still live in Key West, I may be able to visit the cemetery or Library History Dept.
