I am the great granddaughter of Mattie Moss Costner. Her son,Don Anderson,was my grandfather,and I am the daughter of his son,Donald James Anderson. I remember staying with nana as a girl. We use to work out in her gardens and bake and she always had company over to watch sports and visit. She always had sugar cookies and coffee ready. She always gave me the best hugs even as I got older,we were always close. We always wrote when I was older too and she sent me a card every birthday and holiday. She always made me feel special. I can recall every room in her house and even the aroma still lingers in my memory. She was funny and she took care of me,when there was no else. We use to lay in her bed,at night and listen to news radio and we would hear the train rumble by,behind her house..I miss her so very much.
Now I have a son, Nathaniel Van Asperen,who attends university. He is 23.
I wish nana would have known him.
I have a few pictures of nana and I too that i treasure.
I just put in her name and found this wonderful memorial about her! So I wanted to write something too. I have now learned more about my family tree.i did not know of all her siblings..
I remember her love.
