-Born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, I now call North Carolina my home. I worked for the City of Wheeling, County of Ohio, and the State of W.Va. until I entered the Women's Army Corp (WAC) in 1974 and was part of the changeover to the All-Volunteer Army. After completing six years in the military, I was honorably discharged and continued working in a civilian capacity for the Department of Defense.

-In 2009, after 40 years of service in the workforce I retired. My days since have been filled with travel and meeting new people, home projects and gardening, research and writing, and researching my ancestry.

My ancestors are primarily from Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

My grandfather, on my father's side, immigrated from Germany to the U.S. (Ohio) at a young age, which makes me a 2nd generation German American. My great-great grandfather, on my mother's side, also immigrated from Germany to the U.S. (Pennsylvania). I am currently researching the following surnames of my family:
