My wife, Marilyn, and I are retired. My wife started researching our family history in 1999, and I joined the search around 2002 with a membership in Ancestry.com, although I am no longer a member there. It was sometimes exhausting and frustrating, but really great to have learned about our ancestors.

I was born in the U.S., but have traveled a lot: lived in Germany for 8 years, worked in North Africa (Libya) for a year and a half, and traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe during my 26 years as a consultant. I am also a Vietnam veteran.

I like to find documented evidence for the entries that I make in these memorials. That part can be exhausting. Sometimes, it take weeks, and sometimes even years to find the information I need. It is frustrating working through the incorrect information, so I try to make sure that the facts I use are correct.

So far, I only create and work on memorials for relatives of families belonging to my wife or to me. I do share information I find for other memorials with their owners.
