I was born in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia at the Ohio County General Hospital. When I was two years of age, my mother, brother, sister and I went by train to Tucson, Pima County, Arizona. It was my only train ride and I just wish I could have remembered it, as it must of been one heck of a trip. We were later rejoined with my father, who was working in San Francisco at the time of our migration to Tucson. Except for a brief stint in the Navy and a foray into Western Colorado I have been in Arizona ever since.
I got my interest in genealogy from my grand father who kept a record of his family for several generations. So when I decided to follow in his footsteps I had a head start. That was in the early middle to late 80's and since was was so far away from the source records the progress was very slow. But in 92 or 93 I got into computers and that changed the whole deal. Now I can access records in just a flash. Recently I have do DNA testing and made some significent gains in extending my families line.
I enjoy genealogy as it is like a never ending mystery that never gets completey solved and I love playing the detective.
