My name is John Michael Hill. I am a direct descendant of the Hill Family of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Genetically Vance.
Multiple independent lines of evidence, including Y-DNA and Big Y-700 testing, census and tax records, probate records, geography, chronology, and documented Hill/Vance family relationships converge on the same conclusion: William Vance 1779-1866 was the biological father of Willis W. Hill 1814-1896. My Big Y confirmed terminal haplogroup is R-FTE11591 and I am in Group 01b of the Vance DNA Project.
