My parents, Larry and Mary (Krabiel) Cook, are from the Creston, IA (Union county) area. My mother was born in a farmhouse on the Adair/Union county line and attended Orient, IA school, in Adair county. My father was from Creston, IA. They were married in Aug 1959.
My paternal grandfather, Arnold Willis Cook, was the mayor of Creston, IA for a number of years in the 50's and early 60's. As Mayor, he greeted Harry Truman at the railway station when he was on his "whistle stop" tour, running for President.
I was born in Creston, IA and have lived in Ankeny, Council Bluffs, and Des Moines, IA growing up, before moving to Shawnee, KS when I started 7th grade (middle school). I graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School (1978), received my A.A. degree from Johnson County Community College (1981), and my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University (1984). I worked for NCR Corp., AT&T Corp., Lucent Technologies, Engenio, and LSI Logic over my career. I am retired now and currently reside in Wichita, KS, with my wife, Christina (Tina). I have 2 step-daughters: Michaela and Kaitlyn Evans.
