I was born in 1947 and have visited this cemetery since I was 11. My Wardwell family was from Ledyard, Union Springs, Aurora and Scipioville. Hanfords, Anthonys & Brewsters are in the Evergreen Cemetery in Scipioville, NY. I grew up in Huntington, Long Island, NY. My father, Homer Hanford Wardwell, 3/23/1913 - 10/26/1966, moved to Huntington in the 1930's to live with his sister, my aunt, Emma Louise Wardwell Phipard, who was known as Emmy Lou. Clarence "Dutch" Wardwell was his brother. I spent about 5 summers on the farm of Jessie & Howard Sanders, my grandmother's sister and brother-in-law in the 1950's. They still had an outhouse and a pitcher and bowl in the guest room for toilet purposes LOL.
