I am the Caretaker, and I work to bring back to life the memories of those who rest beneath forgotten sod.

The dead cannot speak for themselves. They cannot teach us their lessons, nor share their memories with us. It is my duty to rescue these lessons, these memories, from being forever lost.

I know that no matter how many memorials I write, nor lives I research and record, will it ever be more than a teardrop in an ocean of those other lives who lie forgotten. Though bearing this in mind, it is still an honor to discover all these lives and record as many memories as I can with the time available to me.

I only hope that the work I do today will inspire others somehow so that they might carry it forward into the future.
