I have always lived in Richmond/Twickenham in SW London, as has my mother. I am constantly asked if I'm Chinese, Japanese, Icelandic, German, South African, Italian, Spanish, Thai, Indonesian... you name it. Somewhat disappointingly, I'm English/Scottish!
My father is from Wolverhampton, his parents were from Nuneaton and Berkhamsted; their parents were from Nuneaton and Cambridgeshire and seem to have been for at least three centuries. My mother's parents were from Bermondsey (south London) and Eggleston (Co.Durham) and similarly don't seem to have moved around much in the last three centuries, other than the occasional stint in Scotland or Ireland.
In terms of graves, my stepdad and grandparents opted for their ashes to be scattered, while my mother's mother and her ancestors are in Eggleston, but other than that, I am just discovering my family history, so would welcome information regarding Bosworth, Jackson, Dewis, Steele, Hall, Sennitt or Gittins.
