I was born in Nash County on July 2, 1974 and raised on my grandparents tobacco farm in the Green Pond community of Bailey, NC.
I graduated from Southern Nash High School in 1992 and Coastal Plain Law Enforcement Training Center at Wilson Community College in 1995.
I married my high school sweetheart, Melissa, on October 25th 1997 and we had three sons. We built a house and raised our three sons in the Middlesex area of Nash County near Taylor's Mill. It is the very same farm where my wife had been raised as a child -- On the Glenn Driver farm (my wife's grandfather).
I spent my entire career in law enforcement and I retired from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in 2021 and I enjoyed each and every day of my career serving the citizens of this great State. It was a childhood dream to be a NC State Trooper,...

My wife is a funeral director and embalmer. We share a love of visiting old or historically significant cemeteries. Some of our favorites are Arlington National Cemetery in DC, Forest Lawn in Los Angeles CA, and Historic Oakwood in Raleigh NC.
