Hi I decided to start as a member on Find A Grave for multiple reasons. To help educate future loved ones in their search for family history as I found it daunting to find many answers I was looking for & am still in search of. I wanted to make it easier for generations to come.

Im hoping if my contributions can help even one person I know it will all have been worth it.

Next is a strong feeling that IF (small word big meaning) someone is going to do this, that a key part is to give correct information.

Remembering all religions, faiths and beliefs are quite different. With that being said "PLEASE DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE" .

Although an appreciated gesture of ones kindness **PLEASE NOTE** That this is not among common practice in our faith and can be very upsetting to see that somebody has left flowers on/or by a Jewish grave.

Its all about leaving reminders of our thoughts and ongoing love.

Jewish people do leave tokens of affections of remembrance by ones graveside ~ it isn't flowers.

I recall that my dad told me long ago why that was. He said "in a cemetery that flowers as nice as they are ~ in time they'd eventually die so instead we place pebbles or stones by ones grave because they're ETERNAL and FOREVER just like our cherished ancestors" !

Made a lot of sense to me then and it still does !

Personally I think its a tradition that goes back decades and should not only be practiced in the Jewish faith it should be practiced in every faith. Its a beautiful sentiment.
