I've been working on my family tree since the 1990s. Right now searching grave info & linking family members together & updating info for the following branches of my tree going back to the mid-1800s in Newark and "The Oranges" in NJ:
Forbes, Yeager, Gebicker, Meusel, Eckerlin, Minard, Nilan, Chiarella & Calabria.
I am working off extensively annotated notes of my grandmother's cousin (who died in 2025 in her 90s), and notes from my own research & interviews of my grandfather & some older relatives in the 1990s.
When I create a memorial or if I make an edit to an existing memorial it is after i have either referred to my own notes and/or double check whatever records (usually US Census & Social Security NUMIDENT files) are available on the website LDS www.familysearch.org, as well as doing my own obituary search for more recent deaths.
Additionally, I have a "side quest," which involves me ensuring that the maiden names of married women is documented, helping to connect families & preserve their legacies.
