I am a photographic historian and educator living in Orland Hills, IL. For twenty two years I've been building a study collection of 19th century photographs from Illinois with the hope of acquiring at least one example from every photographer. Presently I have over 30,000 original photographs in alphabetical order. In the future, I will publish a directory of 19th Illinois photographers.
I actively search and purchase identified 19th century photographs from all over the country. Most importantly, I try to re-unite these with their living descendants. Please contact me if you would like to own the original photograph posted at this site from my collection.
