∼Ferntree Gully Cemetery in Victoria

Important: Please note that the Ferntree Gully Registry of interred persons has many incorrect entries including names, dates and interment information, grave location and there are some missing entries as well. I have even come across an individual which was suppose to be buried at Ferntree Gully Victoria but in fact was buried in Box Hill Cemetery Victoria with her husband.

In a few cases, the person who purchased the plot has been listed in the Interred Persons Registry and not the deceased.

With regard to the public graves section of Ferntree Gully Cemetery. Public Graves historically included "paupers" and public plots—approximately 200 historically unrecorded individuals were left in unmarked graves at the rear of the original cemetery.

∼When suggesting edits to memorial I created and manage, I will modify or decline a copied obituary at my discretion. Please note that OBITUARIES being added to a memorial as text in or a photograph may go against copyright laws, and they usually include living survivors.

With regard to memorials I have not created but manage, I may add further information, for example, burial details or spouse/child, otherwise the memorial remains as it was originally created.

Please when submitting edits, add them to the appropriate fields on the memorial's edit page and put details of source or documentation in the notes field. I try to verify suggestions but it would be of assistance and quicker if source of information is in the notes.

Of course if the edit suggestion is obvious, for example the headstone photo has the information then proof is not required.

Unfortunately duplicates happen for a number of reasons. If I have created a duplicate just report it. Many duplicates happen due to insufficient/vague information.

To request transfers, please use the "Contact Manager" form on the memorial's "Suggest Edit" page and state your interest in the memorial or your relationship. Memorials within the guidelines are transferred.

The transfer of Memorials outside the guidelines are considered individually. Please state your interest in the memorial or your relationship to the deceased and if appropriate, the reason you want to manage the memorial.
