I am an amateur historian who specializes in 19th-century United States Army artillery officers. My work is compiled elsewhere on a website under construction; my database of American officers is over 1,000, and I have a lot of photos and bio details.
I use Find A Grave as a sort of quick reference and a good starting point when I am documenting my researched individuals, so I often attempt to add photos and correct data as much for my own future information as for everyone else.
Since my focus is so narrow, I am regularly researching these individuals in minute detail. If you are reading this because I sent you an edit request that seems to conflict with some other source, you can safely assume that I have made the suggestion based on solid research. I wouldn't bother sending frivolous edit requests if I didn't care, especially since I am collating much of this for my own future quick reference.

Also, following the recent passing of my beloved grandma, I have taken a more active interest in our extended family, especially the ones barely within the reach of living memory. I have assumed the role of family historian and archivist, and have begun the process of scanning the hundreds of old photos and documents for preservation. I will attempt to add constructively wherever I can.
I am happy to take over any memorials that anyone cares to relinquish.
