I was born in Carl TX in Travis County. I guess there is no more Carl Texas these days. I was taught proper, ladylike behavior and I valued that in my friends and relatives. I attended Baylor College and studied nursing. When my mother passed away I left school to help my father with my younger siblings and his physicians business. After I married Joe, my life took on the responsibility of raising my 10 children

Then, when World War II broke out three of my sons and one daughter joined the United States military services.

The rest of us would sit around the piano and I would play "There Will Be Bluebirds Over the White Cliffs of Dover" as my younger children sang. Thank our Loving God they all returned safely:) and my kids did go to sleep in their own little beds again!
