I am a directed descendant of Hillard & Nancy Hendrix Jennings, and I am currently acting as the administrator for the Hendrix Cemetery Association. Established in 1846 by John Hendrix, this cemetery is rich in both family history and the pioneering history of Grayson County. Currently the cemetery needs a lot of work and restoration. Vandals and falling limbs and trees have damaged grave markers over the years. A few are missing leaving only the stone stumps in the ground. We do not have any family members left in the area that are able to maintain the property and we are looking for volunteers that wish to help preserve an important piece of Grayson County's past. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.
