I came to this site to find my elusive grandfather's grave. I was successful in finding it. I've actually been to SD and didn't realize how close I was to it. Maybe some day I can return. I only met him once in my life.
I live in rural Western NY with my husband of 35 years. We have an adult daughter and a grandson. We are both retired NYS employees. I returned to work in the educational system where I am still employed.
My mother's side of my family is a bit complicated and I dabble in some genealogy to find relatives. But, admittedly, it is a bit too complex and overwhelming for me. Jack Withers is not my grandfather's birth name, so it's made that part of the search very messy. That and the fact that he seemed to be a nomad. But I do know he resided at some sort of a retirement home in Dell Rapids SD for many years prior to his death. He came to visit us in WNY one time in 1977. So, any information someone could provide me, would be great.
I just recently signed up on this site to be a volunteer to take photos of graves for people looking for them. I hope to be able to find them and photograph the site for them.
