Ex Army and now in my older years I enjoy researching military graves of the fallen. I spend many hours uncovering information about their lives, and that of their family. I have been fortunate to meet likeminded members who undertake research - and provide a fascinating insight to the lives of those who have passed-on. I've found that, with few exceptions, most members of the 'Find a Grave' site are keen to share their information and help others in their own research.

My opinion is that History should be about the sharing of past information for everyone's benefit. Equally, each memorial on the site is of a person, with a family, and they deserve to have their memory recorded accurately and respectfully.

My only criticism of the 'Find a Grave' site itself is that they allow these mega collectors of graves on the site. Those who "manage" many thousands of graves but do little to provide any information or research on the individuals buried. Their objective seems, in some weird way, to collect as many graves as possible, rather than present a true and respectful representation of the departed.
