William George Parkhurst (Bill), son of Peter George Parkhurst (1937-2011). I retired in 2021 and I am working on updating the family tree database that my dad compiled. Find a Grave has been a great tool for helping to update our family tree, and I appreciate all of the help from Find a Grave volunteers.

My Dad traced his grandparents' family lines (Parkhurst, Sarles, Furness, McFerren, Thomson, Barnard, Bowman, Young, etc.) back as far as he could. In doing so, and by working with other people on their family trees, my dad learned that about 95% of everyone in the Americas with the last name Parkhurst is descended from the same immigrant George Parkhurst and one of his two wives. This George Parkhurst immigrated to Boston from England in 1637. So, my dad worked on a big project (before there was an internet) to trace the descendants of that George Parkhurst for nine generations.

My mom and I are also working on my maternal ancestors with family lines Wardenburg, Stack, Webb, O'Toole, Fuller, Neisingh, Richardson, Moore, etc.

My dad received lots of family tree info about my wife's ancestors and I'm working to extend those family lines (Wright, Martin, Rosenberg, Shuster, Glasser, Mahan, Carley, Simpson, Casebere, etc.). When my dad merged my wife's family tree with his family tree, he was able to show that my wife and I are 10th cousins 2x removed.

My dad always said that if you go back far enough, we are all related; and I enjoy making connections.
