Family historian since '94, Find a Grave and SAR since '22.
My principles:
Ancestry.com is an excellent collaboration tool for the family tree. Find a Grave is best reserved to showcase actual known graves and monuments. It can be used to list generations whose graves are not found in the bio text of the nearest relation. A memorial page is public. Personal relationships such as "my x ggm" can be added in a flower. Find a Grave as a social medium requires self-governance. If you have not yet, please read the guidelines given for whatever you want to contribute, and for when to hand off memorials to others. They're not perfect but allow us to collaborate effectively.
My methods:
1) Family Tree Maker PC app synced with ancestry.com, with named filters and custom fields (e.g. memorial ID) and csv export ("Custom Report" to select fields).
2) Maintain and download a Virtual Cemetery of memorials I care about (Account - Data and Privacy).
3) Combine FTM and VC downloads in Excel to audit and highlight gaps and errors and hyperlink to the memorial.
My results:
2022: 300-page family history binder and online pdf of sketches with notable stories, photos or memoirs.
2022-2024: identified and completed applications for 14 SAR patriot ancestors, with bloodline wall chart.
2024: 12-day, 2600-mile road trip to 37 cemeteries in 4 states.

2026: to celebrate 250th, searched revolutionary monuments in Massachusetts (as practical limit), found 1500+ names, searched memorials, added 650+, enhanced hundreds more.
