When I was in 5th grade our teacher gave us a blank 4-generation pedigree and an assignment - go interview your parents and grandparents and bring this back filled out. After that I was hooked and I've been doing genealogy research now for almost 50 years. I was digging through courthouse basements and tracking through forgotten cemeteries before the interwebs existed (and before I had a drivers license). It's an obsession! I have many others to thank for helping me along the way, especially my cousins Cyndi and Betty June Tatlock, and my aunt Jantha. My big breakthru came in the mid 1980s when I spent a morning with Jack Scott digging through 150 year old probate files in old rotting boxes at the Jackson County, Indiana courthouse.

I don't get out to cemeteries much any more so I focus on linking memorials to their families and adding obituaries to memorials instead of headstone photos. I think families should be together on F.A.G. if possible. And know if you get a suggestion from me it has been meticulously researched first.

I only manage a few memorials that are close family or important people to me, but if I happen to have an unrelated person in my list I'm happy to transfer to a family member.
