Lineage: Great grandfather Joshua Buchanan Mullen-Grandfather Joseph Edward Mullen-Father Joseph Buchanan Mullen-Mother Stella Tanner Mullen Union county, Ms. I was born in Doddsville Ms. on August 5th 1948 and spent some of my young life in Southwest Michigan 1951-1961. We returned to Ms., Near Baldwyn where I Graduated from High school at East Union Attendance Center, Blue Springs Ms. in 1966. I went to Northeast Mississippi Jr College for 1 semester in 1967. I tried pre-engineering and discovered what it was like to bite off more than you can chew. I returned there in 1968 for their vo-tech course in welding. soon after completion I was drafted into the Army in Apr 1969. I served my 2 year draft commitment, including a year in Viet Nam. I met the love of my life, Deborah Runyon at the spillway campgrounds here in Grenada during the summer of 1971, and was married to her Nov 20th, 1971. I remained in Ms. until Apr 1972 and enlisted back in the army due to the poor economic condition at the time. During our stay in the army, we had 4 children: Laurie Regina 1973, Tessa Dawn 1974, Shana Lee 1976, and Ryan Troy 1984. I went through Army Flight school in 1980 and piloted UH-1 Helicopters (Huey's) on active duty, and after retirement at Fort Polk Louisiana, various helicopters for 22 years in the Gulf of Mexico oil fields for a total of 15,700 hours flight time. I never crashed one nor hurt anybody. I retired from flying due to having eye problems and being not able to maintain my medical certificate, near the end of 2012, and moved back to Grenada Ms, mid year 2015. I love having served my country for 20 years and, very much enjoy being Chief Warrant Officer 3, U.S. Army Retired Robert L Mullen:)
