We are descendants of Joseph Scott and Martha Pedan of PA. Benjamin P. Scott was the father of Mary (Mollie) Scott who married Albert Rippeth (descendant of William Rippeth Sr). We are honored to have Joseph Scott and William Rippeth Sr as patriarchs who both served in the US Revolutionary War. Martha Pedan's father Benjamin Pedan was a delegate to the Pennsylvania Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution in 1787, which he signed.

Tracing our ancestors beyond Benjamin Pedan are his father Captain John Peden I who migrated from England to Hempfield township, Lancaster County in 1733, and his grandfather William Peden II and great grandfather Rev William Peden I, of Scotland. His father was Rev Andrew 'Hugh' Pethein 2nd Laird of Auchinlongford, wife Isabel Boswell Pethein; (The Pethein line goes back to 540 Rev Paidin of the Isles, son Rev Phaidein and a line of clergy where Pethein was changed to Peden by Covenanter Prophet Peden, listed as a son of Hugh/brother of William.)

Hugh's father was Sir REV Alexander "Baron of Kylesmuir" Pethein I, wife Lady Margaret Hamilton Pethein.
