A native Californian, I had the privilege of growing up with my maternal grandparents and many of my dad's relatives nearby. Hearing their stories of growing up got me interested in exploring my family roots, particularly since little was known about my grandmother's biological father or her maternal grandparents. I received instruction and assistance from members of the Church in Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and was able to use their extensive database, which has been valuable. Still trying to learn more about the Metcalf-Stiles part of the family and would love to get past that dead end. Other family names are squire/squier, Metcalf, Denham, Stiles. I currently live in the Midwest and enjoy attending Roots Tech each year.
