Bio
I am slowly adding or contributing to memorial entries for St. Arilda's Upper Churchyard from the publication 'The Churchyard book of Oldbury-on-Severn' with the kind permission of all surviving contributors as of July 2023 and the Parochial Church Council. I am two-thirds of the way through.
The original book was compiled in 2009 by members of the Oldbury-on-Severn Village History Group, together with the Thornbury and District Museum Archaeology Group. The individual contributors are listed below. Only a handful of printed copies were ever produced, one of which is available via Thornbury Museum and includes additional information about the churchyard and memorials with no decipherable name. Another copy is held at the British Library. I hold a copy of the digital files.
Memorial locations can be found using the plans in the churchyard photos section. Birth years are mostly calculated from age at death and are therefore +/- 1 year.
