I was born in Arcata, CA in 1967 and attended all my schooling in California including getting my BSEE at UC Davis and MSEE at Santa Clara University. After getting married in California in 1990 and working for a decade in Silicon Valley, my wife and I have lived in places like Austin TX, Dresden Germany, Taipei Taiwan, Poughkeepsie NY, Bristow VA, and finally settled in Longmont CO.

I became interested in family history during Covid and discovered that my Grandmother (father's mother) was 100% Wendish (a Slavic minority). So, I'm 3/4 German and 1/4 Wendish. Learning that was a game-changer for me and I've been trying to trace my genealogy since 2021.
