Born in Fresno, California, in 1951. Commissioned as a U.S. Navy Ensign (Cryptologist) in Newport, RI, in April 1979. My first duty station was Misawa, Japan, where I met my (now former) husband, Stephen A. La Rocque (from Rhode Island), another Navy Cryptologic Officer.
We had three children, Timothy Adrian (1985), Margaret Elizabeth (1987), and Jeffrey Stephen (1992), all born overseas. Steve and I split in 1993. Retired as a Lieutenant Commander (O-4) in the U.S. Navy in 1994, returning to the state of my birth, California, with the kids. I served as a U.S. Navy Cryptologist in various places throughout the world, the top analyst at NSA Europe in the mid-to late-1980s. I have an Associate Degree in Math, a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, and an MBA from the University of California, Davis, from which I graduated in 2016. An entrepreneur since my Navy Retirement, I have founded several businesses, most notably Stone Hill Designs. Nordstrom was a key customer. I moved from the Central Coast area of California to Sacramento County in January 2011, where I live in the small town of Antelope. I restarted my first business, Stone Hill Designs, in August 2022, making every item I sell, focusing on sewing and crocheting a wide variety of items for personal and household use, hats being my specialty. I love what I do! And I live with and enjoy the company of my cats and very good friends.
