The Red Deer Branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society was founded in 1978 with 14 members. Our branch had volunteers who would collect newspapers and cut out the obituaries to save for people searching for them. Now we have over 40 members and are out photographing headstones and creating memorials for FindAGrave as well as offering genealogy research help to both locals and those too far away to search here.
