I am Jessica Elizabeth Schwie, an attorney and daughter of Larry William Schwie and Elizabeth Kaye Miles Schwie. Larry Williams Schwie was born to Donald William Schwie and Betty Arline Larson Schwie. Betty and Don are buried and Summit Cemetery in Wayzata. Their son, and my uncle, Mark Donald Schwie passed and was scattered by the family. His memory lives on with his totem pole. Don Schwie's mother, my granny, was Mary Ann Reiter Schwie. She is buried at the Saint Elizabeth Seton cemetery in Hastings, Minnesota together with many Reiter family members, including her parents, Anton and Anna Marie Kiemen Reiter. Don Schwie's father, William Clifford Schwie, had left the family by the time I was born to start another. He is buried together with his parents, Gustave and Mathilda Zellgert Schwie, siblings, and grandfather, Jakob Zellgert, at Mount Pleasant cemetery in Chaska Minnesota. Gustave and his brother Wilhelm Schwie emigrated from Germany. Jacob and Mathilda Zellgert emigrated from Luxembourg. The Reiters and Kiemens also emigrated from Germany. All were German Catholics that emigrated in the 1830-50s.
Elizabeth K. Schwie was born to Dorothy June Herland Miles and Charles Forest Miles. Their ashes were spread at Bennetville cemetery over the graves of Dorothy's mother and father, Signe Marie Gotteberg Herland and Edward Herland and uncle Christ Solheim. All were from Norway, emigrating in the early 1900s. Her sister, my aunt Cynthia Miles, ashes were spread in Lake George, Florida. The Miles family go back much further in time in the United States, hailing from Ohio and other parts, grandpa said that they were a mix of Jewish, English, and Welsh.
