Born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I enjoy history in general and local history. I also enjoy researching my own genealogy. I find visiting old cemeteries calming. I find it interesting to see the different first names of long ago, the unique designs of headstones, markers or monuments, and personal messages, psalms, quotes or verbiage engraved on them. I am always respectful of the area and will pick up any trash seen on the ground that may have been dropped or carried in by the wind. Also, before I take photos, if there is any lichen or dirt build-up, I have a handy little brush that I use to dry-brush it off. I want them to look nice for their last photo that pertained to their life. It's the least I can do for them.

To those who are requesting a photo in a large cemetery, please take the time to get the section and plot number from the cemetery office, if there is one. This may make the difference between a volunteer trying to fulfill your request or going elsewhere. We certainly appreciate this.

For fun, I am a geocacher and have been since May 2007. I also enjoy taking photographs of nature, and enjoy arts & crafts projects, jewelry making, drawing/doodling.
