Bio
Join me in this journey—an adventure into history, heritage, and the lives that shaped us. Every search offers new clues, and every discovery carries the legacy of those who came before. I am proud to be Mexican American and Native American, continuing the traditions and stories that were once pushed into silence.
I was born in Deming, New Mexico, and carry deep pride in a heritage, race, and culture that were suppressed throughout my youth. Raised in a turbulent environment marked by harsh words and emotional turmoil, I learned early what it meant to stand alone. The psychological wounds and racial disparities I faced became the backdrop to a childhood shaped by control, fragility, and prejudice. Yet today, I stand free of those chains. The shadows of the past remain, but they no longer define me.
The challenges I faced as a single teen parent became a turning point—a past I chose not to repeat.
Through persistence and purpose, I pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology—foundations that shaped both my healing and my calling.
In my professional life, I now build strategic community partnerships with public, state, and local officials, as well as private agencies. I support resource development, program creation, and grant initiatives that strengthen our organization and the communities we serve. From conducting community needs assessments for underserved seniors to expanding mental health education, counseling, and resource services, each step has been part of a meaningful and rewarding career.
My work—and my genealogy journey—are both acts of reclamation: honoring the ancestors, lifting the forgotten, and ensuring that lost stories are finally brought back into the light.
I'm grateful for the unbreakable bond that I share today with both my Father and Daughter! Never allow yourself to be robbed of the light that shine's your lamp!
